Bottomless Brunch Alert: Casimir Launches Boozy Weekend Meal

If we were going to get married, it would be to a kick-ass happy hour. But, we’d probably end up sneaking around on the weekend with all the cheeky bottomless brunches in town (they came on to us – we swear). We just got word that East Village restaurant Casimir has kicked off a weekend meal featuring unlimited Mimosas and Blood Marys for only $19.95 a peep. The menu consists of things like buttermilk pancakes, eggs benedict and spinach and chickpea omelet – but you really are in the house for those cocktails, so don’t fill up on food and be sure to get your money's worth. The deal goes down on Saturday and Sundays from 11 AM to 4 PM and Casimir is located 103 Avenue B. If you walk out of here and don’t have to go to bed immediately, you haven’t done your job.

New Happy Hour at Abboccato Ristorante. Swell.

What better way to end the week with a good old fashioned happy hour. Well, we have a new one for you to check out, since going to those same old watering holes is, well, boring (and you are anything but, right killer?) Abboccato, located smack dab in the middle of Midtown, is offering daily special from 3 to 5 PM. Yeah, you’ll have to sneak out early to score these deals – but it sounds like a great excuse for a late afternoon meeting to us (also, tourists in the area who may not have pre-5PM commitments). Cocktails will be $7, beer will be $5 and Italian wines by the glass will set you back $6. We’re leaning towards a libation named The Sicilian Kiss, a mix of Thatcher’s blood orange liqueur, tequila, Grand Marnier and Sicilian blood orange. A selection of small plates will also be served – think meatballs, risotto fritters and ricotta ravoli. If you want to head over and get in on this deal, Abboccato is located at 136 West 55^th St.

We’re all about great deals on wine – especially great deals on wine that come with $5 shipping.The People’s Wine Market focuses on finding overstock in the cellars of family farms and shipping it to you at major discounts. Each Tuesday, a selection of new bottles is released – while the offerings are limited, you’re bound to get some good finds. Last week’s slate included a bottle of Cavagnaro Malbec from 2005 at an amazing value. A pack of three bottles were on the docket for only $39 – you’re not going to find anything that good at your local liquor store.

Better yet, the focus is on artisanal producers, so these are labels that you might not find without their help. Free Beer For Every Home Run During the Playoffs

Looking for a spot to watch the Major League Baseball playoffs? Look no further – Rare Bar & Grill in Chelsea is offering a kick ass deal that will keep you happy even if your team is losing. Throughout the playoffs, you’ll get a free draft for every home run. Yep, even if the team you’re rooting against hits it out of the park (what better way to deal with those sorrows than to drink them away).

That goes with $10 pitchers, $25 per person all you can eat wings and nachos (through the fifth inning) and a raffle during the seventh inning stretch that’s worth $125 for a dinner for two at the eatery.

Deals for International Sake Day Around NYC

If you needed an excuse to drink this Saturday, we’ve got you covered: it’s International Sake Day! To celebrate, a few bars around town are offering specials in coordination with TY-KU, an Asian spirits company that has a few sake-based labels on the market. They’ll hook you up with deals like $5 TY-KU tinis or buy one get one free cocktails made with their brand. But, since it’s such a huge day for sake and all, we’re much more interested in the sake bomb specials they are touting. Get hooked up with the bonzai beverage at spots like Jake’s Saloon and Ido Sushi for only $2 or $3 a pop. On any other day it would be a bad idea, but today, it’s a necessity.

New West Village Happy Hour: Sam Bahri Steakhouse

Happy hour in the West Village on Saturday? Yes, please. We just got word that new meatery Sam Bahri’s Steakhouse is launching a choice drink deal three days a week. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, drinkers will be able to enjoy 50% off cocktails and $3 beers on tap from 4 to 7 PM. Those prices = pretty frickin’ awesome. As if that weren’t deal enough, the steak slinger is also offering $1 oysters on the half shell during the promotion. This is one of the better deals in the hood, so stop by at 10 Downing Street to take advantage of it. You can score a peek at their house-made cocktail menu below.

 

Reduced Price Cocktails at The Gansevoort Hotel Tonight!

Did you hear – it’s Fashion’s Night Out? Stores around town are slashing prices and staying open late to lure in shoppers who are excited for the launch of Fashion Week! Once you take advantage of all the sales, your wallet might be hurting – so it’s refreshing to see that the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District is lowering the prices on some boozy beverages. Carte Blanche Cafe in the lobby will be pouring fashion-themed drinks like The Ford, The Calvin and The Oscar for $9.08 a pop. They’ll be served alongside a menu of light bites, but you should probably make like a true fashion person and avoid that food altogether.

Boozy Brunch at Yotel. Boo-Yah.

We were taken with the fourth floor terrace at the Yotel, which features one of Midtown’s best outdoor drinking spaces, and we’re pleased to see that you can soak up the sun during brunch time with a pretty awesome deal. For $35, you can get unlimited small plates and freely flowing cocktails – the food here is surprisingly good – so take advantage of the unlimited options and stuff your face. Especially since it sure beats the other brunch options in the neighborhood (which basically consist of divey Irish bars and overpriced options at 44 & X). If you can’t make it over for brunch, then check out the Monday – Friday happy hour where you can score $25 pitchers, $4 beers and $4 wines.

Make Your Own Bloody Mary At Midtown's Redeye

A bad Bloody Mary is a horrible thing (and even worse because you’re likely very, very hungover when you’re taking your first sip). A new menu item at Midtown’s The Redeye (890 Seventh Avenue) will insure that the mix is up to par by letting you craft the cocktail yourself. For $30, guests get all the ingredients they need in a spread that’s meant to quench the thirst of two drinkers. In addition to the tomato juice, you can throw in some lemon zest, sea salt, muffeletta, shrimp, chili pepper relish, horseradish, clam juice or beef consomme (among other options). If you want to go even more crazy (aka if you need some ammunition in the war against your hangover), check out the extras like oysters, king crab and lobster that can be added to the mix for a little extra dough. The do-it-yourself deal will be served during brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. While the restaurant will certainly offer some guidance if you need help building your drink, you’re on your own when it comes to dealing with those shaky hands.

De Santos Offers Free Cocktail Every Wed. Night

If you’re bar hopping in the West Village on a Wednesday night and need a destination – quit putzing around and head over to De Santos. Just make sure to get the timing right. On every hump day, the restaurant will dish out a free cocktail to any guests who stop by between 10 and 11 PM. Each week will feature a different drink – this Wednesday the bar will pour gratis cucumber martinis. While you’re there, consider sampling some of the eatery’s locally-sourced fare (and definitely make it a point to check out their backyard garden if it isn’t too hot out).
