If the NYC bar scene has been missing something, it's a goth-themed watering hole. Well, it's nice to see that niche has been filled by Bizarre, a strange new haunt that's up and running in Buswick (of course in Bushwick). We first noticed it when it was picked up by the booze hounds at Gothamist, and they did a great job of highlighting the skeleton dolls and Tim Burton-worthy decor.
It's not the moody room that most intrigues us, it's the performances. It looks like this haunt is playing host to a regular schedule of events - including some acts that would make even the most hardened regulars of The Box blush. They also screen smut-filled movies - think Last Tango in Paris and Warhol shorts - and host a regular array of DJs. You can get more info on their Facebook Page, and stop by for a visit at 12 Jefferson St.
