When we picture a binge drinker, it’s always some sort of frat-head type doing a keg stand at a college party. Well, it turns out that the keg stand may be accurate, but the gender is all wrong. A just-published study found that it’s the ladies of the university who are the prime binge-drinking culprits. Take a look, from NJ.com:
“The study, published by the Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, found 56 percent of female students are considered binge drinkers, as opposed to 41 percent of their male counterparts.”
There’s a catch, though. Even though the females in the study were getting tipsier faster at party events, the guys followed drank more often. Ok, so the moral of the story here is that all college students are lushes. Somehow, we’re not surprised.
