If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to check out West Village newcomer Louro, which recently opened in the space that used to house Lowcountry, we’ve got a few for you. How about the Royal Avenue, a mix of bourbon and Campari (a flavor combo that we’ve been seeing pop up more and more) that’s combined with grapefruit bitters and sweet and dry vermouth. Or, if that’s not enough, we think the Jackson’s Delight should lure you over – this $12 libation is a mix of Bourbon, black mission figs and a dash of cinnamon. Both drinks – and a few others – are part of the new winter cocktail selection being offered from mixologist Mayur Subbarao, and we see a lot of things we like.
In addition to the drinks mentioned above, there’s a take on the margarita that is spiked with yellow chartreuse and another cocktail dubbed the Arctic Cynar, which mixes chili-infused rye with cynar, lemon, grapefruit and honey. Good things are going on at this bar – stop by at 142 West 10th Street.
