Is there any reason to buy bottles of wine over $15? Unless you’re trying to impress someone, the answer is absolutely not. But, when you go to the wine store you have to tread carefully – certain cheap bottles are just gross and if you choose wrongly, you might become convinced that pricey is the only way to go. Enter Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 100 Best Buys of 2012 – basically you should print this list and bring it with you to the liquor store. Everything included in the selection has a suggested retail of under $15.
Pretty much every wine-growing region is represented, and it’s important to note that $15 is the max price, as many bottles are lower than that. There are even a few underneath $10, including the number-one Best Buy, a 2009 Vega Portuguese Red that is sold for only $9. With prices like that, we think we’ll take a whole case.
