When you think of Westway, it’s doubtful that food comes to mind (tall boys of beer and stripper poles more like). Well, the club isn’t going full-blown restaurant like some nightlife-centric venues (yes, you really can eat at Avenue). Instead it’s hosting a pop-up of sorts on Thursday nights. Last week, Vinegar Hill House was on site, dishing out sandwiches that they made especially for the event. Dubbed the “club sandwich” (har de har har), it was a fish filet with tartar sauce and iceberg lettuce on a potato roll along with some tater tot poutine (which we bet hit the spot after one too many beverages).
Other cool-kid chefs that have participated include Andy Ricker and Eddie Huang. Though we doubt the former strip club is going to become a culinary destination, we’ll drop by to gorge the next time we’re club hopping.
