We suspect that two types of patrons will be heading over to Guy's American Kitchen when Mr. Fieri opens the new eatery in Times Square next week:
1. Tourists
2. New Yorkers that love irony
The sprawling restaurant will have to pack a lot of both into fill the 500 seats. While much has been made about the celeb chef's sunglasses, frosted tips and the burgers that he'll be flipping at this joint, we noticed something at least mildly exciting in the press materials: it will contain three bars. Well, while irony itself may not be enough to drive us over - an eye roll and a drink certainly is.
The joint is in the old NY Times building and the cocktails will range from an "Apple Pie No. 7" to a "Margarita Caliente." There will also be a list of vino that focuses on labels from California and some local bee labels brewed by Heartland Brewery.
All of the beverages can be paired with grub that comes from the restaurant's open kitchen. The menu features numerous options that involve booze somehow - including Sangria Glazed Shrimp and beer and honey Porchetta. If you want to drop by, the restaurant opens on Monday at 220 West 44th Street.
