And now, the service we've all been waiting for. You know those nights when you're having a party, and you realize you're out of the bottles you need to properly entertain your guests (and by "entertain" we mean "get crunked")? To get beer, you have to go to the deli. To get booze, you have to go to the liquor store. Or, you can call both and hope that the delivery guy shows up sometime in the next two hours. Pain.
Introducing Booze Carriage, which is like Seamless Web for lushes. You log on to their site here, pick which bottles you want delivered, and they show up within 30 to 60 minutes with your order in hand. There are no delivery fees and they charge you the same amount for the hooch that you'd pay in the store. Um, why is this the first time a service like this has existed? Now we NEVER have to leave the apartment (except to take the recycling out, naturally).
The service is in its initial stages, meaning there is not a full selection of beer and spirits available for every address in NYC. Also, there is a $20 delivery minimum, but we're thinking that really shouldn't be an issue for any drinker who is serious enough to use this service. Right now the delivery zones include most of Manhattan - you can check out more info and place your orders here.
