Did you know that July is New York’s Good Beer Month? Why, you ask? Because Mayor Bloomberg said so! On July 5 Mikey once again declared the middle of the summer to be a celebration of all things brew, issuing a proclamation celebrating Good Beer Month while applauding the brew-related businesses and communities that have helped pump cash into the economy by pouring suds.
There are plenty of events around town to celebrate all the hops (you can see a full schedule here) but we’re particularly excited about the Beer Blook, Blog and Video Fest which will happen on July 25 at the South Street Seaport Museum. The gathering will feature some of your favorite beer-media geeks, and the authors, bloggers and filmmakers will be talking all things craft brew while showing off their stuff. If that’s not enough to lure you down on Wednesday, do note that there will be samples. Yep, we know just put it in the calendar – well done. Tickets are $15, the event starts at 6:30 and you can get info here.
