Got five grand laying around? Well, if you don’t want to give it to us (we accept cash and checks, FYI), maybe you should invest in some liquid capital. Appleton Estate just rolled out a new limited-edition label that carries a hefty price tag but impresses in the flavor department. Their 50 Year Old Jamaica Rum was aged in oak barrels – only 800 bottles were produced and it’s supposedly the oldest rum available for sale in the entire world. It comes in a crystal decanter that was custom made for the launch and you’ll notice notes of oak, vanilla and cinnamon on the tongue.
Yep, there are people out there who spend crazy amounts of money on high-end labels, and we expect that these bottles won’t be around for very long. Oh, and if you do buy one, can you invite us over for a nip? Thanks.
