When we’re 88, we hope that we’re keeping things as interesting as Ethel Goldschmidt. Instead of sitting around and playing canasta, she decided to take her savings and open up a new beer company, dubbed Ethel’s Brew. Apparently, it was a lifelong dream of her and her husband, and after he passed away she decided to make it happen.
The brew, which is made in Brooklyn, carries the label “go out with a bang” and the marketing materials feature quips from Ethel herself. Sample: “my husband is dead, I have money to burn, let’s party.” Sounds like our kind of lady (she also apparently makes a mean bundt cake too, according to the bottle’s label). You can get more info about Ethel and her brew here.
