Everyone is getting excited about the arrival of warm weather, and rightfully so. But, too much of the focus surrounding all the exciting produce that spring brings is focused on the kitchen – these super fresh ingredients can also end up in your glass! Farm-to-table cocktails are pretty much everywhere these days – one bar dubbed The New Easy in Oakland, CA has taken the trend to the new level and only uses fresh juices and ingredients that can be found at a neighboring farmers market.
So, what spirit should you use if you’re going to stuff your glass full of fresh, seasonal ingredients? Well, Summer Bell, bartender at The New Easy has come up with a libation that uses Plymouth Gin, as the botanicals in the label apparently go well with spring’s bounty. We’ve provided the recipe below, adapted from the bar, so you can see if this farm-to-table thing is really all that. If you’re not so into it, well, a plain old martini is never a bad idea, right?
