Looks like there’s a new wine bar on West 3rd Street. Don’t shudder kids, Vyne tries to do away with the area’s puke-on-the-sidewalk reputation. Located above Zinc Bar, this vino outpost doesn’t seek to attract the college kids. Let them take their “real Id’s” to the Peculiar Pub around the block, the only peculiar thing going on here is the focus on whites.
Over 60 percent of selections on the affordable list are of the chilled variety, which is good news for those of us who don’t like red (aka – those too vain to drink it because of wino mouth). The list isn’t too bad in the price department. Yes, that $7 will get you some watery 2 for 1 beers around the block, but wouldn’t you rather have something a with wee bit of quality. Don’t worry, you’ll still have some money left over for falafel.
Vyne is located at 82 West Third Street. Note to the drinkers who frequent this neighborhood: they don’t serve Jager bombs, and you can’t drop a shot of anything into a glass of Sauvignon.
what would be nice to see along with the tickets sold is the allotment each school was supposed to sell. For instance I see that Minnesota sold 3,000 tickets for last year's Insight Bowl, but how many were they required to sell? Did they meat their allotment or how short were they?
