New York cocktalians have surely heard of LUPEC. The Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails have been spreading their love of liquid all around the city, making sure that the cocktail stalwarts of the past are not relegated to dusty back bar shelf for eternity.
Their latest event takes place on Monday, March 8th, and celebrates International Women’s Day. What better way to celebrate than with Whisky? Boutique Scotch maker Compass Box has invited the ladies of LUPEC to create a slew of Scotch cocktails to show that this spirit (like many others) is no longer a “men’s only club.”
The event, held at Astor Center, will also act as a fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a women’s charity. Lynnette Marrero of Rye House, Abigail Gullo of the blog Rye Girl, Jane Elkin of Rye House and Kelley Slagle of Hearth will all be slinging cocktails at the event.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
