How old is Clint Eastwood? We’re not sure, but he’s getting up there. We hope that we can look as kick ass as he does when we get to his age. There he is with his pal Morgan Freeman (who, no matter our aspiration, we will never out kick ass). They were on the red carpet last week for the release of a new DVD collection: Clint Eastwood: 35 Films 35 Years at Warner Bros.
True to Eastwood style, there was a potent signature cocktail on hand made with Chivas Regal. The spirits company hosted a reception at the event to celebrate Clint and their limited release Chivas Regal 25 label (also kick ass, if we do say so).
The drink is called The Outlaw, and celebrates the old-westerns in Eastwood’s movie making past. You can make this drink at home, and attempt to go all Dirty Harry in your apartment. Do you think that monkey that used to be in the Eastwood movies got to drink one?
“The Outlaw”:
4 blackberries
2 oz Chivas Regal
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz cranberry juice
Muddle Blackberries in a pint glass. Add all spirits and mixers. Shake and strain over fresh ice in an old fashioned glass or large rocks glass.
The black berries are a great addition. I rarely have them, especially in drinks, so its nice to be able use them when they work so well.
