Eater is hot on the trail of Superdive’s fate. They may or may not be sold (and may or may not shut down). Is there another bar in trouble? We dropped by Su Casa the other night for some cocktails, and found only a locked door. Perhaps they were bringing the secret bar story to another level? After annoying the upstairs neighbors with some random buzzer ringing, we became convinced that the spot was actually closed.
We gave the bar a call, and the person who answered claimed that Su Casa is closed for “uh, some renovations” and will be open again “Thursday, but not until 10 PM.”
We pondered potential scenarios as we munched on our Qdoba burrito downstairs. Friendly yelpers claim the place is poorly run, and seems like someone’s hobby. Is the spot, which was originally positioned as a cocktail den, revamping and trying to open as a nightlife spot? Or does renovation mean the lounge is deflating?
We’ll be back to check it out sometime soon, if only because we want another burrito. Send any intel this way!
