-The Breslin in the ACE Hotel is open, and Eater has some really, really early word. It’s good news so far, with people raving about the best French fries in the city. We’re glad, especially since we weren’t so thrilled with the Lobby Bar. Nothing gets us excited about checking out a new place like patrons whining about how salty the food is after it’s been open for all of three days!
-Did you know that elections matter? Guest of a Guest has the list of candidates endorsed by the Nightlife Preservation Committee. These candidates work to keep New York nightlife fun and safe. Darn, it looks like we should have, what’s that word . . . you know. . .voted. . .
-The tiki has landed! Bartender Joe Swifka, late of Elettaria, has found a spot at Flatiron Lounge. This is great news for tiki fans who mourned the loss of the West Village restaurant and its Tiki Monday specials. Good ol’ Joe will mix you up a tiki drink at Flatiron, as long as they have the ingredients. Dust off those hula skirts!
