Where We're Headed: J'Mac's

With our undying love of dive bars, we can’t believe that J’Mac’s has been off our radar for so long. This West Side dump is our new dive sweetheart (sorry, Blue Ruin). It’s located on 57^th Street between 10^th and 11^th, and is the single outpost of drink on the block. It’s perfect for a nip before a show at studio five, as the drinks are cheap and it’s usually empty. The only reason not to stop in? If you’re drinking here, there are 9 chances out of 10 that you’re an alcoholic.

Yes, you could be the one person in the bar that gets away without the dastardly label, but we doubt it. The only ones here without a drinking problem are the illustrated firefighters on the wall.

Bring your friends here if you want to scare them. Like, really scare them. They’ll be putting together an intervention in no time. It will be quite a party. Be sure to bring the booze.
