Ladies and gentlemen, get those shuckers ready! It’s almost time for one of our favorite events of the year: The Stone Street Oyster festival. You may remember that this annual shin-dig takes place on a lovely little avenue in the financial district. It’s outside of beloved downtown bar Ulysses, and it’s serious business. Over 5,000 people are expected to attend, and they are looking to consume over 20,000 oysters.
That’s only 4 oysters per person. Come on people, we can do better than that.
The fest naturally offers plenty of Guinness. Some live oyster-chomping music starts at 3 PM. The festival is on Saturday, September 26th. That means you have plenty of time to work up that shellfish appetite. We’re thinking it should be more like 14 per person this year.
You can check out some more info on Ulysses’ website: www.ulyssesfolkhouse.com.
