-The Oyster Bar in grand central lost their liquor license last week, due to an administrative flub (via Eater). Yikes! The spot is BYOB until they get it back (probably within 1-2 weeks). That’s good news for commuters on the Metro North, as we know they are a drunken bunch that loves to smuggle booze into places (if their behavior on the train is any indication).
-Grub Street has word that Brooke Shields is a Belgian Beer snob. She is on record saying that her favorites are Duvel and Chimay Blue (as in, return to the blue beer lagoon?).
-We always have to miss out on the good stuff! Luckily, cocktail blogger The Dizzy Fizz headed over to a tasting of The Dalmore. We didn’t get to taste the whiskey in person, but the pics on the site give us the feeling that it was top notch. We did try to lick our computer screen for the full experience, to no avail.
