Sometimes, a margarita isn’t a margarita unless you pay $12 for it. We stopped by the Lincoln Center location of Rosa Mexicano. While it is certainly more expensive than its Mexican Restaurant cohorts in the city, you’re paying for a lot more than just standard rice and beans. After dozens of years on the menu, their frozen Pomegranate Margarita still delivers. Use it as a tool to cool down after you nibble on the restaurant’s super spicy guacamole.
The Lincoln Center location is ideal for a few rounds if you consider yourself a cultured fellow. Snag a seat near the window at the bar and gaze out at the Opera House. Watch the classical music fans stream up the stairs and into the grand Metropolitan. It may not quite be like watching the opera itself, but you can’t afford that because you just spent all of your money on margaritas.
If you’re looking to recreate the experience without spending all the cash in your wallet, Rosa Mexicano offers some awesome ready to cook dishes on Fresh Direct. These heat right up, and will run you a maximum of $9.99 a pop (that’s less than the margarita!). Order a few of these, and grab some cheapy but quality ingredients for the drinks. Some AZUL Tequila, lime juice, and POM Wonderful make a mean pomegranate margarita, and your wallet will thank you. Maybe you’ll even be able to afford a trip to the opera next year.
