Hudson Terrace to Open Next Tuesday. Cinco de Mayo on the Roof!

If you know anything about NYBarfly, you know we are a sucker for a good rooftop bar. There is something about towering above the city while sipping on a cocktail. We think it has to do with the fact that we always wanted to be a giant, but that’s for our psychotherapist to figure out (we make her refer to us as Gulliver). Gorgeous spring weather has hit NYC harder than swine flu, and it’s time to head over to the city’s newest rooftop lounge: Hudson Terrace. The space officially opens to the public Tuesday May 5th for Cinco de Mayo.

Formerly a private event space, we’re glad to see that the owners (Village Pourhouse, Vintage Irving) decided to open the terrace up to normal folk. It’s truly democratic up on this roof. Instead of the usual bottle service routine, they will offer up pitchers of sangrias, margaritas, mojitos, caipirinhas and bottles of wine.  There will be BBQ available from the grill every night in addition to an expanded appetizer menu. The space will offer glorious views of the river in rain or shine.

If you want to make it into a roof-only night, there are plenty of other high-up haunts in this neighborhood. Start off at The Dream Hotel’s rooftop lounge, hit the cabanas at High Bar, and end up at the Hudson Terrace to watch the sun set over the river.

We posted the flyer with opening info below the jump. The new open air den is located at 621 West 46^th Street. We’ll be on the roof, giant style.

I attended brunch at Hudson Terrace this past weekend and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was great as was the food. The crowd was young and chill and ready for the summer weather. I loved being able to enjoy the sun out on the patio with a sangria in hand! It was a bit crowded and warm, I hope they adjust the surroundings, add some shaded areas to accommodate the impending summer, but who can control the sun? I still dug the vibe.

I went to the cinco party at Hudson Terrace last night and it was THE most fun event. The Real Housewives of NYC were there (reason enough) but the DJ was the sickest DJ i've heard in a long time. It was a little low on "Cinco" festivities but no big deal, it was still a great party.
