There’s nothing like a little 2 for 1 happy hour action to get our week started off right. Recently opened East Village drink hole Local 269 doesn’t disappoint. You would never guess that the bar “recently opened” as the décor gives the “opened in 1983 and never been cleaned” vibe. When we last stopped by, an Out of Order sign hung on the door to the women’s bathroom. The bar keep went in and out with a plunger, but we couldn’t tell if that’s because he was really attempting to fix it or if it was just meant to complement the grungy décor.
With tip added in, you’ll end up spending only $3.50 per Stella or Brooklyn Lager (as long as you drink them in even numbers). The bar is quiet in the early evening, you can grab a cozy spot and bask in dive all night.
Local 269 is located at 269 Houston Street near Suffolk. Thanks to EV Grieve for the photo.
Any relation to Local 138 on Ludlow?
