This week, Grub Street screamed (their caps, not ours): OMG ENOUGH WITH THE BACON ALREDY! Not so fast. We just got word of a newly launched Bacon flavored vodka: Bakon. New York foodies aren’t truly drowning in pig fat until they stick their noses in a trough of this.
From the Company’s website:
Bakon Vodka is a superior quality potato vodka with a savory bacon flavor. It’s clean, crisp, and delicious. This is the only vodka you’ll ever want to use to make a Bloody Mary, and it's a complementary element of both sweet and savory drinks. Bakon Vodka is also a great Bar-B-Q companion. Use it in a marinade or sip it chilled with a steak.
The company can’t ship their wares to NYC just yet, but expect to see Bakon Vodka everywhere once it is available. Double Down Saloon (home of the notorious ass juice) currently infuses their own, but we think Bakon will be a major step up. New York’s bartenders will surely be glad to have a new savory plaything. Especially one that will make their patrons drool and say “MMMMM. Bacon.”
For all of you Tweet Heads out there, you can follow Bakon here: @baconvodka. Take a look at a pig-tastic bloody mary with their recipe below the jump. Gotta love their suggestion of pickled asparagus spears as a garnish. MMMM. Pickled asparagus spears.
• 1 oz. to 1½ oz. Bakon Vodka in a Highball glass filled with ice.
• Fill glass with tomato juice
• 1 dash celery salt
• 1 dash ground black pepper
• 1 dash Tabasco
• 2-4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
• 1/8 tsp. horseradish (pure, never creamed)
• Dash of lemon or lime juice
Garnish with a celery stalk; a skewer of olives, pickles, carrots, mushrooms, or other vegetables; or even meat or shrimp (bacon, salami, shrimp, etc.) and cheese. Pickled asparagus spears or pickled beans are also great as a garnish.

The fat or lard is the accumulation of fat found between the meat and leather pork and travels through the body of the animal. Stresses its characteristic odor Iberian pigs.

A very well written article I must say.
Personally I am rather new cause I have only been listening to electronic music for only the past 1.5 years.
