We’re a fan of all things W. Weineramers are cute and friendly, Welsh people have funny accents, and wigwams make for comfortable living. When we heard that a new W Hotel is set to open in Hoboken, we got very excited. We’ve had great times over the years at the city’s numerous swanky W lounges. Finally, we will have an excuse to cross the river and visit our Jersey-bound friends. We’ve been avoiding their birthday parties and dinners for years, but now they can come meet us on friendly grounds. Just as an Embassy is considered US soil if it’s in a different country, this chain’s hotel lounges are considered sovereign New York territory even if you have to take the Path train to get there.
We scored a picture of The Chandelier Room, the property’s bar. Looks sufficiently swanky to us. Enter your own W exclamation here (wow, woo, and whoa all acceptable).
The hotel’s official grand opening is on April 23rd, and the lounge and the restaurant (Zylo) will be open to the public starting on March 27th . We definitely will head over and report back as soon as we get the chance. From the photos and advance buzz, we can tell one thing: it sure beats the hell out of a wigwam.
