-Former Staten Island Representative Vito Fosella (aka Rep. Drunky) was sentenced to five days in jail for the drunk-driving arrest that ended his political career. His lawyers vow to appeal, still claiming that the multiple breathalyzers used to confirm his blood alcohol were all defective. Yes – it’s a pretty bold defense. They had to take three shots of vodka to be able to say it with a straight face.
-Turns out the head judge of Top Chef might be the Top Tip Grubber. A waitress filed a lawsuit against Tom Colicchio, owner of Craft, Craftbar, and Craftsteak. The suit alleges that Colicchio improperly shared tips with the management and made the wait staff pay for their own laundry. This all sounds like a whiny waitress to us. Our guess? She filed the suit after they wouldn’t let her on the show and she realized her acting career was going nowhere.
-Free the Bowl– a Superbowl Commerical Contest – was launched this week. The contest is for youth from 13 to 20 and seeks original anti-beer ads of 30 to 60 seconds to counter excessive Super Bowl beer advertising. Sigh – we are too old to enter. We agree that there are too many beer commercials during the Super Bowl, and hope that those youngsters can throw some great martini ads into the mix.
