-There is hope for the new Hog Pit. We recently visited and came away worried about our beloved drinking sty. The manager and event planner of the bar got in touch, and let us know:
When the original opened it was very "clean" & new looking. We expect that our customers will eventually give the new space the old space feel. Also, when the old space closes in December we will bring the much loved paraphernalia over to the new space. That should make everyone feel right at home. As for the high ceilings, that's something we can't do anything about. I suggest not looking up!
We think this is pig-tastic, and will practice only looking down until we head back after the original location closes.
-Belgian company InBev announced that the majority of Anheuser-Busch shareholders voted to approve the merger of the two companies. There was little chance that this deal would fail, but stock-watchers were worried about hold-outs that planned to shot-gun the deal after shot-gunning a 12 pack of Bud Light. Luckily, they were passed out by the time the vote took place.
-As we’ve previously mentioned, we love the holidays, especially obscure ones that give us an excuse to drink. November 16th is Dutch-American Heritage Day. The date marks the moment in 1776 where an Island in the Dutch West Indies became the first to recognize and pay tribute to the newly formed United States. Never know what to drink at Dutch-American Heritage Day parties? We suggest you pop open some Grolsch and make a toast: “Here’s to, uh, whatever the hell that holiday was again.”
We think this is pig-tastic, and will practice only looking down until we head back after the original location closes.
